The Hub is Taking Shape!
Since my last blog
Hello again,
It’s been busy on site in the last few weeks. As Barry and his team from the builders - Edgar Taylor continue to make significant progress on site.
If you live locally, you will have seen big changes. I’ve so enjoyed visiting the site frequently and seeing a big difference every time, even in the pouring rain!
Crane arrival and steels in place

The super quiet electric crane arrived last week and has been busy lifting steels into place. It didn’t take long for the crane and steels to make an impact, you can now make out the structure of the whole building, it is big!

Pictured on site are Gary, our Project Manager, and Neil, one of our trustees. They both thoroughly enjoyed seeing the progress firsthand and watching the building continue to grow. With the steels now in place, it is exciting to see the scale and shape of the Hub really starting to emerge.
It was wonderful to see the children on the development walking to school and pointing excitedly at the crane and all the lorries delivering the steels. The Hub will be for this generation, the plan is for them to enjoy events and occasions at this building for many years to come.
Hub Manager
The trustees and KCH team continue to work behind the scenes getting everything ready for when we open doors. We are starting to hire staff. First, we will be appointing our Hub Manager to start work in September. We won’t even have a building yet but there is a lot to organise and get ready so we can open doors and hit the ground running. The Hub Manager will play a key role in making this happen. All the information for this role will be on our website. Do take a look!
What next?
In the next month, we’ll see the steels in place and the structural shell going up.
Please do follow our progress by visiting our website and social media channels.
And don’t forget the QR code!
There is a QR code on the hoarding which will link you to all the latest updates on our social media. Do take a look and please share it. 😊
